4500 Series

Based on the award-winning 2500 Series, our new 4500 reels are lighter, stronger and better looking—if we do say so ourselves. The sophisticated, high-performance 3:1 geared graphite drag unit provides the kind of power and smoothness you'd expect from a large traditional drag system, only without the bulk or weight. It's also completely sealed from the elements and features a one-revolution adjustment knob for quick and accurate drag settings.

An added bonus, 4500 and 4500CF spools are interchangeable and also fit the original 2500 Series reels.

Micro Cassette Drag

The Sage Micro Cassette is a Sealed Carbon System (SCS) drag engaged 3:1 by machined gearing inside our reel's large arbor spool. This package is extremely light weight while providing enough stopping power for any fish you might choose to target with up to a 9 weight in your hand. Micro Cassette Drags consist of a sealed stack of roughly dime-size carbon disks in contact with stainless steel rotors. These components are created to precise tolerances and able to dissipate heat that can be the ruin of less sophisticated drags. The multiplied surface area and 3:1 rotation in this configuration provide smooth reliable resistance with amazing range. Even better, SCS Micro Cassettes are sealed and impervious to outside elements such as sand, grit and salt, requiring no maintenance beyond simple rinsing. 

4500CF Series

4500CF Series reels share the same frame structure as the 4500, but are even lighter and more durable, thanks to our amazing new carbon fiber spools. 4500CF reels also feature a distinctive finish, aluminum, o-ring handle and a significantly lower price.

Another great feature, 4500 and 4500CF spools are interchangeable and also fit the original, award winning 2500 Series reels.

4200 Series

Matching the level of design from the makers of the world's finest fly rods, Sage introduces the 4200 series reel. The award winning 4200 is machined from solid aircraft grade aluminum and features our fully sealed SCS Floating Tripod drag unit for smooth, maintenance-free performance. A precisely calibrated, one-revolution drag knob allows for quick, reliable adjustments you need to hook an play the big ones.

Floating Tripod Drag

The Floating Tripod Drag is one of the more unique configurations of our Sealed Carbon System (SCS) and stands by itself in the field. The Floating Tripod consists of a carbon disk riding on stainless steel rotors supported by a triangle of three smaller carbon disks. Like the three legs of a stool, the system is perfectly balanced and incredibly low weight, providing smooth resistance through its full range of settings. As with all our SCS configurations the Floating Tripod is sealed and impervious to outside elements such as sand, grit and salt, requiring no maintenance beyond simple rinsing.

Click Series

 Ah, the beauty of simplicity. Our ultra-light Click Series reels represent the ideal combination of modern design and straightforward function for times when a drag system is just unnecessary weight. Based on our popular 3000 Click Series, Click reels feature a smooth new gear and clicker system to cushion delicate tippets and prevent overruns. 2000 Series
